I need some expert advice regarding a differential swap. I have an opportunity to get a Dana 44 from the front of a 2005 Wrangler Rubecon. It has 4.10 and lockers, basically stock. My question is will it fit under my 2009 JK. I am speaking of the houseing and chunk only. Will the axles and axle housing from my Dana 30 fit on the Dana 44? I can get it cheap but if it requires an extensive amout of work and buckets of money I might pass on it.
Thanks in advance for your advise and help.

im preety sure it wont fit. the housings are different and the jk axle is wider than the tj axle so the shaft legenth will be different.

Just an opinion but why would you want to trash your warranty for something you will most likely never use?

Are going to be rock crawling with this or is just going to be a daily driver that sees a trail or two once in a while?

Serriously you have a lifetime power train warranty which includes parts of your axles why screw that up so you can say you have a Dana 44?

x2. 2005 was one of the last years the Wranglers were TJ's. Your '09 Wrangler is a JK. The bolt pattern and WMS to WMS width are different in TJ's and JK's so it won't work without a lot of work. And, no you can't use any of your D30 parts in the D44 except for maybe the u-joints...
