Dana 44 lock outs...

So I noticed when i got home from Crozet this past weekend that I had hit one of my lock out covers on my Chevy 44 and have just slightly cracked it...

A) do you think it will be ok as longs as i don't hit it again, or will torque break it?

B) even though it might be like polishing a turd, should i put drive flanges in to replace the hubs and the cover?

C) could you source just a chevy lock out cover or could i just cut out some kind of a cover, similar to a drive flange cover, and leave the warn stuff inside it...(not sure if this would work)

I have 300M joints, and Cromo shafts, so i have already polished this turd quite a bit, and yes i would love to have a front 60, but instead of doing jail time for robbing a bank, i will just try and save my pennies and go wheelin.

Any thoughts? (i know this is not the place to do this but anybody got a 44 yoke they are trying to get rid of, just thought i would ask.)

Flanges should hold up. I broke an axle at Gray Rock that took out the spindle, spindle nuts, and outer axle but the flange was fine. I know that one guy with one breakage isn't a very large sample size but it's still a good experience.

BTW, I don't share the rest of the world's opinion on dana 44's. They weren't too bad with my 37" tires.

Kregg......empty your PM's......I have what you are looking for.

Call me.

If you have warn stuff, just call up warn and they will hook you up. I called customer service when my warn premiums need new wave springs and they just sent them out. You might have to pay for a cover, but it would be worth a shot to give them a call.
