Dana 44 spider gear removal

I've pulled the axles on a C-Clip 10 bolt before, but never a Dana 44. What has to be done on a 44 to remove the spider gears? The patient is a offset 44 in a '77 Wagoneer.

I'm referring to a REAR 44...also, are the carriers for Dana 44s the same front and rear

Carriers are the same, based on the ring and pinion ratio.
You have to remove the set pin and then drive out the center pin. the spiders will fall out them.

in my jeeps with dana 44s you must remove the carrier and then the ring gear to remove the spider gears

True, depends on the ratio. Some ring gears are thicker then others.
