Dana 44 ?

I am running a DANA 44 5.13 upfront, with a detriot locker. I am not a fan of the locker, (i'm not used to it) and its have some problems too boot. So the ? I am having, what do i need to replace it... I was thinking of doing "normal" or "lsd" upfront. also the axle if from a 86 Jeep Wagoneer if that helps... thanx for the help :0
 
It would help if you described the problem. Are the problems on or off road? Do you have lock out hubs? What's it in? Both LSD and a locker, Detroit in your case have their place. Most here on this board like the lockers for the added traction. IF you are set on changing, I am sure there is someone here who might be willing to trade you.
 
I guess either swap out a carrier limited slip, or get a stock carrier and buy a lunchbox locker like an aussie locker or something. Not really sure what your problems are though, so I'd explain whats going on first.
 
i went to Rausch Creek last week, and I "gernaded" my locker as they say. I don't like the "tight" turning the locker does, I just SAS my truck, i'd like to get used to b4 i go locking it again, I am LSD in the rear, eventually down the road i would want to ARB air lock it.
 
Randy's Ring and Pinion sells the Powerloc (I think that's right) for the D44. It is a 4 pinion LSD that they can build extra tight. You should check that out if you want LSD. You can make enough off the Detroit to buy the Powerloc.
 
well i ended up ordering the LSD today from CRS, and i will have installed next week.... ill keep ya updated.. do people actually buy damage lockers?
 
I am going to tear it apart when I get it out next week to see what the problem is and then he can try to sell it or whatever.......
