I have a Dana 70 (hd I believe) out of a Chevy dually. It is approx 74 inches wms to wms. Is there any way other than cutting it down to get it close to the same wms as a srw 14 bolt or Dana 70? I would like to use it as it has 1.5 inch axles with 35 splines. I need it to be somewhere around 65-68 wms to wms. Any help would be appreciated. Also wouldnt mind trading for a srw 14 bolt w/ 4.10s.

well I have done this operation a few times and even build a jig for it the big thing is you either going to buy a set of alloy axles or find a set of axleshafts from something to work

I thought I read somewhere that someone had used 14 bolt hubs from a srw b/c they were the same inner dia. and it moved the wms in b/c the mounting surface difference between the 70 drw and 14 srw was about 3 1/2 inches narrower per side?(the 14 being narrower of course)

If the spindle will allow it, go for it.
