I can't wait to buy one of these in 5-7 years!

I priced a new 250 today on the Ford site. 6.7 was a 12K add on. My 7.3 was $79,915 loaded like I want. So the 6.7 would be 12K more..... I'll keep my 21.

That’s only like $15/ftlb more.

Dafuq...it's like they said..it wasnt enough to put Camaro out of business, again, let's steal their rear quarters and put them on our car.
It's Camero dammit

It sure would be nice to have a moderately powered truck with better fuel mileage.

Yeah yeah, who doesn't want more power, right? I'm actually ok with the 2-250 hp, 5-600 tq of my first gen Cummins.

It's hard for me to believe they couldn't knock it out of the park with economy and still have a good pulling truck.

I'll never buy one anyway, so who am i kidding:laughing:

I’ve been saying this for years. The 3 liter they put in the 1500s is just a little too small (even though 450 ftlbs is probably plenty, haha), but the 6+ liter engines they put in the bigger trucks is completely overkill for the way most people use them. A 4-4.5 liter in a heavy half ton would be the perfect truck. Low to mid 20s for fuel economy and enough power to pull 15k pounds when needed. On paper, the Nissan Titan with the 5.0 Cummins is probably the closest thing, but Nissan and the EPA managed to totally botch the fuel economy, and the marketing and pricing were off, plus it was an oddball, so all of the people who shoulda bought a a 5/8 ton opted for a Durrmax, Parstroke, or Cummings 3/4-1 ton because it was an established platform with better fuel economy. And then they use it for less than an F150 is capable of.

On a related note and more extreme end, its actually pretty rare that I need more than my '93 extended cab, 6.5 ft bed Toyota w/ what, 120 hp has to work with. These days a small truck and engine that size could easily get 160 hp and be plenty and get way better MPGs.
Its what, 4k pounds?
...depending how much has fallen off from rust I guess.
You'd think the Maverick would be killing it - they are so affordable and practical - but I think the tiny ass bed really runs people off.

Last I seen they weren’t affordable…. Dealer markup is killing them. And at what price point do you pony up a bit and just get the bigger truck. That would be my problem, 30k for this or 35k for that….

yeah I get that.
But sometimes, some people, don't actually WANT a bigger truck. A small truck is way easier to park and maneuver around a city.
Hell most modern "mid size" trucks don't even fit in a typical garage.

I own no small vehicles lol 😂 and the wife’s in a Denali xl. Parking is rough especially seems the bigger the city the smaller the spots

My wife has a Honda CR-V, I have a Ram Mega Cab. We have the parking ease vs comfort debate before most trips
