So, I got a little bouncy on the first ledge on Daniel.
Snapped the CVjoint.
I'm getting estimates from $220 TO $270 TO repair the shaft. But a brand new one is only $320.
What over options are there for a strong but maybe less expensive replacement.
I've heard the shortening an XJ front shaft works for less.

I know driveshaft shops will shorten/lengthen shafts for like 60-80 bucks...

Call Dave at olivers....

Explorer front d-shafts work as well as XJ rear shafts. IIRC, the explorer shafts will accept a larger diameter tube so you can get one made with a heavier wall tube.

Thanks. I'll start looking for an XJ front shaft.
I did call Oliver's. $220 to repair it. Still, I'll drive out and get a face to face estimate.
I can't exactly put my YJ up for sale without the rear shaft.
Wife gave me "permission" to buy a 2010 Rubicon. I guess she really likes her 2010 Patriot.

Call Oilivers and talk to Dave and tell him your on NC4x4.... Tell him exactly what u want. They are pricing out a total rebuild more than likely....

I'll sell you one for $100 ready to bolt in. You have to tell me what king of joints and the length. Pm for more info.

universal driveline down in charlotte is where I got all three CV's (for front and rear shafts). Last time I bought two and it ws only 90 bucks and that was shipped. sorry i dont have the number handy though

Wow.
My CV head needs rebuilt. Bent the whole head.
I should have checked back here before I put a $5 bid on an XJ shaft. There is probably somebody waiting the pounce at the last minute. only 7 hours left on it. I'll PM GubNi.
