dayton is hard as u want it and crossville is a river bottom with huge rocks, you can only go to crossville certain times because it will fill with water. I think the carolina trailblazers have been to dayton.

Crossville is cool. Went there YEARS ago! It was raining really bad, so much so that in a 5 minute period the river rose up about 1 foot making it damn near impossible for everyone to cross and get out without incident!

The land that Kinzalow owned has been sold. It is closed and posted private. I organized and coordinated rides there for several years and am still friends with many in the Dayton area. I visit and communicate still.

Yes I was a member of the CTB and was the connection for them to gain access to the property as my guests, I have been personal friends with them for many years and still am. It was a great place that is gone forever.

As a member of CTB, I enjoyed Crossville, for many years! Last couple of times we went,we had a poor turnout, & seemed other members didn't want to make the Trip.
The last Ride, we encountered a Private Rd., being built nearly parallel, to the trail, on one end. Wouldn't doubt the Trail, closed now, least, the section next to the development.
This was probably 5 years ago.:(

Crossville is/was probably one of the best wheeling places if you wanted to feel like you were on a true adventure in the middle of no where. Ive got many many great memories of there. However, you have to be aware of the weather and whats happening 20 miles up stream, cause this will be the weather that traps you in!

Dayton was awsome too. Anytime you are on hardcore trails built for and by Hummers is sweet. Any time you get to go up and squeeze dolly's boobs..I mean, go up through Dolly's squeeze, was good.
I am trying to remember where we wheeled, and the trail leader told us to look over there, through those trees...there was a car or truck that had been driven over a cliff and was hanging there for years..
Terry, Was that Dayton? Cant remember, maybe it was Royal Blue....

Dicks demise was my favorite in dayton, got to go twice

I got to go to Dayton one time a few years ago w/ CTB and it was great. I just rode it once and I still think it's been my favorite of all places I've been. Sure do miss the good spots to ride.

The car over the cliff was a small part of the problem. Dumbass's would get drunk and steal a car and shove it over the cliff for fun. Cost several thousand dollars to clean it up. Also he didn't sell the land for the money.........if you have enough money to buy 12,500 acres you're pretty well off in the first place. Off road clubs would sneak in and trash the place and even be careless with campfires and cause major damage. Sorta like what is happening at URE, there is NO way to catch the idiots that are *#)%# it up. It's up to us to do something when it is being done, not bitch because the FS can't stop the a$$ h0le$. Sorry......I'll step off my bitch box now.
