www.discounttiredirect.com currently has Cooper AT3's on closeout. For a 275/70r18 that fits my truck, they are $155/ea, $625 total, plus free shipping and no tax, AND a $75 rebate card. Thats $550 delivered for a set of 4 load E tires

Was just looking myself for tires...both DD's picked up bolts in the shoulder in the last week.
Stop driving down the shoulder :p

They can have some great deals.
Last year during the black Friday sale I got a set of 4 Mudstar MTs 285x75r16s mounted on steel rims delivered for only $650 after rebates. Not the snazziest tire in the world, but for only 155 ready to bolt onto the truck there's no room to complain.

Thanks for posting this. I was undecided between AT3's and Nitto Terra Grapplers. This closeout sealed the deal. Also, FYI, I called my local Discount Tire retailer and they price-matched the DT direct online price. It's a little confusing, but they are the same entity. DT direct was setup more as an online warehouse to buy tires shipped "direct" to the customer as opposed to ordering them from DT website or retail store. The store price-matched but wouldn't give me free installation but they honored the rest of the rebates including a no tax rebate (they aren't allowed to just deduct the tax as a brick and mortar).

Yeah, definitely the same company. I figure its just a way to get online sales that they are missing because of sales tax. Interesting that the store will also deduct the tax. I might do that next time. Then again I prefer to remove and install the wheels myself so that the impact monkey doesn't bust my nuts.

One of the best things about DTO is that they will mount and balance tires on rims if you order them as a package, so it shows up ready to literally bolt on and drive.
When I got my set last year, I did the math and with buying rims on sale and the matching rebate, it only cost me $10 more per tire to have them show up mounted on rims ready to go, than to take the tires to a local shop and have them mount and balance on my old ones. Then that still left me with the old rims + tires to sell together.

Got mine today...well 3 of them anyway! Now all I have to do is clean up and paint my stock steelies for my 350. Hopefully the michelens will hold out for a couple more months

Thanks for the heads up @jeepinmatt! I've been waiting on a deal for 2 years

You're welcome, and I'd say those other tires are just about done. Or in Craigslist terms a few thousand miles left .

Hahaha....well they are Michelens so pretty much the Cummins equivalent in the tire world. I would list them more like "just now gettin' broke in"

I got an email from DTD saying for July 4 only, they have an additional rebate for $100 on tire, another $100 on tire/wheel packages, and you can get even more if you use a Discount Tire credit card to pay

I ordered days ago...

Got an email today. Tires aren’t in stock and they are trying to upsell me on the newer version. They even called twice.

I get that they are discontinued for a new model, but the website clearly states they are in stock, and even today they currently state the tires are in stock.

I had this exact problem when I ordered during the Black Friday sale. Apparently to get 4 tires they had to come from 2 different places, and same story with the matching rims, they were 2 in one warehouse, one in another, and the 4th on the other side of the country or something. It was about a month between order and arrival.
I will say though, the salesman was very nice about it, and called me multiple times, seemed to actually care about getting it resolved. Once I got him back on the phone, they threw in a "mounting kit" (e.g. set of locking lugnuts) and reduced the price a little more due to the trouble. He said this is a common problem when they have these sales to clear out former models. The site is often well behind actual "stock".

I mean, the new ones do look pretty good ;)

Bumping this back up. Been a couple years, time for new tires, been watching and got an email alert tonight.

Just ordered a set of 4 Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure Kevlar whatever and something elses for $591 including tax and shipping. Plus there's a $75 mail in rebate. Plus a $40 rebate for using the Discount tire card, and since that's pretty much the only place I've bought tires in the past 5 years, I finally just got one. $476 final price. Hard to beat that. Place in Stanley still mounts and balances for $10. Gonna get new Load Range E shoes for just over $500.

How many miles did you get out of the Coopers?
