I run a dehumidifier in my (sealed) crawlspace. It died recently. I saw in my power management app that it has been running continuous for the past 2 months. For the year prior to August it only used 1-1.5 kWh per month. August and September, 36 and 40 kWh. Evidently running full time, but not extracting moisture. I don't need much capacity (as in one of the big commercial-style) because, even with all the rain today, the humidity is maybe 5 percentage points above the setpoint.

This was just a GE 70-pint home unit, 7 years old. I think it was about $250 then, nothing fancy.

So, whats a good dehumidifier for 2025? It looks like all the "name brands" now are companies I've never heard of before.

I have an Aprilaire in our crawlspace. Keeps it at the set 50% no matter what the weather is.

Assuming you mean sealed rather than a vapor barrier;
I feel like building a house to recirc crawlspace air with attic air is a missed opportunity
Properly sized attic ventilation being a sorely under appreciated 'must have'....
