Denman Gound Hawgs?

I think John-CJYKrawler had them for a while in the 44" variety.

Nah, STS's are way more awesomer than thornbirds, duh.

Yeah, you should get the 42 or 44" TSL's. That's what I want to get for my next project.

Why not get a set of these.

They would do better than the ground hawgs and the Goodyears you have...

hard as hell
wont flex
ride like shit on the street
grip nothing

other than that theyre great

i ran a set of 38" radials and then a set of 40" bias plys. keep in mind this was before the outcropping of all the comp tires, etc. about the only other thing to choose from in those sizes was swampers.

for what i payed for them, they did well. i drove all over the eastern part of the country with them and 4 wheeled a lot of different places. they are tough tires, but as has been said the don't grip rocks very well. with the bias 40's, to say they were stiff is an understatement. it took running 0lbs. in the rear and 2lbs. in the front the get them to flex any. even after i broke them in i could run 4 front/2 rear. this is on a mostly full bodied heavy ass dodge ram.

they did wear like iron for an offroad tire. my 38's lasted something like 40k miles, and the 40's i had for about 10k and were barely worn when i sold them.

bottom line, if i was on a budget and needed an agressive tire than wore good on the street i'd consider them again. there are MUCH better tires out there though.

I did have a set of 44s on for about a year. It was at an experimental stage where I wanted to see if my 4 banger would turn the 44s with the gearing I had before I bought new TSLs. I got a good deal on a used set that were fairly worn. I grooved them with a tire iron and they acutally did pretty good! Made some of the hardest lines at DPG, the Waterfall on Welder at Callalantee, Kodak at UNF, etc. They are HARD but I had fun with them! I did swap them out for the TSLs when I got the money though :)

Those tires were super wide too. I think I remember you saying you miss the extra width.

I have owned 5 sets of ground hawgs, 2 sets of 44's, 2 sets of 40's and a set of 38.5's, they are that hotness :driver:

lol, nah they are sweet for a tire that lasts a long time on the road, decent in the mud, if'y in the rocks - I mean they can't really compare to how a Tsl or Irok would grip the rocks but alot of times you can get them cheap as heck which is what I usually go for

yeah those Goodyear H1 tires rock

anybody need a set?

I'll take em if your gonna throw em away, those things are like the perfect on road DD semi-agressive tire for a tow rig.

I had a set - they were the rage in '83!
