Denman (Interco) going out of Business?

If I remember right, and its been a year or so since I was digging in to this, Denman and Interco are separate companies all together. Interco just stopped producing their own tires in the 90s, and have contracted out the manufacturing to numerous others with Denman getting the Lion's share.

So if I am accurate then Interco will be fine they will just move more production to other manufacturing facilities and likely price will increase.

read that artical and the blog wow all they need is a commitmnet from our goverment to buy american made tires from them. would love to know how long that contract would be 10 million is alot but not when you think how much the army pays for tires.

that is out of OH. Interco has their own facility in LA that produces tires :)

I'm sure some are contracted out but their home office and a lot of tires are made in LA

carroll tire which is one of the largest tire distributors for interco told me that they only buy from denman so as of now they cant get any interco tires thats not already in one of there warehouses. so if you want some swampers in the near future you better get them now.

Yeah I was shocked to hear this. I was down at Galloway's yesterday and out of the blue decided to have some Boggers quoted and Lester told me 'they' went bankrupt...I assumed Interco. He said it would be real difficult to order in any tires for a while. He also said that's why the Boggers I want were $300 a year ago and are now $350.

well if you heard that from galloways, its probably legit. they may not be going out of business but may just be struggling with finances??? who knows, i guess time will tell.

Specialty Tire of America about 10 miles down the road from me in Erwin Tn makes Interco, Pitbull, and Mickey Thompson tires. Alot of the guys that work there eat in my place everyday and I've not heard anybody mention anything.

if thats the case, good for Interco.

Yeah but no matter how that went, it was gonna be bad for the consumer. Give Denman what they want...the increased expenses are transferred to the consumer's product. Don't give Denman what they want...lack of tires and move manufacturing over to more expensive vendor and expenses are again transferred to consumer. So it might be good for Interco that they showed some balls, but any way you slice, it's bad for you, me, and anyone who wants a set of Interco tires.

lack of sales will suffer for a bit and will pick back up, hopefully similar to past prices. But, if Interco gives in to Denman, the cost of tires rises forever.

From Interco Tire:

Here is the story. A factory in Ohio by the name of Denman Tire Corporation has shut down and Denman was a major supplier of some of our tires. Denman also manufactured other tires of various brands that will also be affected. We anticipated something like this could happen someday so we diversify our production. It takes time to move equipment out of one factory to another but we have already started the process. We will experience shortages of some sizes and types but this will be temporary.

This factory has been caught up in the difficult economic situation the country is experiencing but everything at Interco is OK.

I sincerely appreciate your inquiry and welcome any future inquiries so we can keep the record straight. Since this news broke we have been humbled by the hundreds of phone calls and emails we have received from very concerned off-roaders and dealers.

Best wishes,

Well Interco tire corp. has been purchased, by who I don't know but everything is at idle save for 35's and under, so look out for dealers attempting to rape and pillage us for the smaller super swampers saying this is all there is they are not making them anymore.
