I need to do some minor grinding in a hard-to-reach place - mostly removing weld spatter and removing a small bit of weldment that will be in the way of another piece fitting.
The usual 4" grinder flap disc won't fit.

I do have a Dremel tool (well another brand but identical)
Is there an attachment that is good for grinding metal, other than the typical small cutoff wheel? That angle is off by 90 degrees.

What would be great is something like the sanding "drums" used on Dremels but sufficient for steel.

... yes, it would help if I weren't a hack welder, but hey, that's easier said that done :D

Carbide burr to remove the weldment, and a little 1"x1" flap wheel for the spatter. A carbide burr cuts too well to remove spatter with much control. There's a ton of die grinder bits made for what you want to do, so as long as your dremel is able to take those bits, and has enough power to use them, you're good to go.

Else just use a pencil die grinder if it's really hard to get to. This is all the same stuff that's used to clean up castings and do things like cylinder head porting. They have a lot more power than the average Dremel tool..

Hey that thing is pretty slick!
I actually just recently bought a very similar attachment for my drill for getting tight 90 deg for screw access.

And the clone I have has an adjustable chuck so I can use many size shanks. It's a B&D thing that actually seems to have more torque than my old real Dremel.

Figured out a neat trick/workaround.
I have a 20 pack of the little 1" cutting discs... I found a screw that was long enough to let me stack 4 of them together to make a short cylinder w/ about a 5-6mm height. Worked like a charm. If I had a longer screw it's be great w/ like 8 of them together.

Dang. Those are little screws, like 4-40 or something similarly small. Crazy you had a long one just laying around.
Not that crazy. I hoard all kinds of fasteners whenever things get thrown away or taken apart, just for occasions like this.
Plus - I stole it off another Dremel-style bit :D
