Anyone have one of these? Has 345 ft-lbs of torque in forward and reverse. All I need is to tighten those damn hummer wheel studs, lugnuts, and ubolts. Will this get it done with ease? Any reliability probs for anyone that has one? I just took back my harbor freight piece of chit and need something else.
 
im guessing you have no air available? i would take air over electric anyday for an impact gun, the only plus to battery being the portability of it
 
I use my buddy's air from time to time but usually I'm working at my house and I dont have a decent compressor, although I always have an extention cord laying around so I like the idea of an electric impact. I'm really just curious if 345ft lbs would be decent enough or if I should find something stronger.
 
i've used one to change tires before, it did pretty well. i'm not sure how it would stand up to constant abuse but for what i was doing it got the job done.

In the past they've called for as tight as I can get them with a 4ft breaker bar lol. I'm just worried because the last Campus hausfield Impact I had wouldnt even turn nuts if there was paint on the threads sometimes and it was 200 something ft lbs supposedly.

The Ingersoll Rand 2135ti that everyone seems to like has 1000ft lbs of torque. I certainly wouldn't complain. :)

I have the 'little' DeWalt 18volt impact, and it's awesome. I would imagine that it would do the job nicely - but as mentioned before, I always use our air impact over it - unless it's on the trail, or in the field somewhere. It's great for when I don't want to mess around with the air lines. I know that my little 18v one will take the lugs off of my Superduty with no problems.

If you want to haul them over to my place you can use my air and IR gun. I actually have to dismount my H1s to weld on some protectors onto the outer ring this weekend...
 
i have a dewalt electric one it works preety good i like it b/c it is more versatile i don't have air in my shed but i have electricity. Also i use it when i don't feel like hearing the compressor run ie late at night when wife is sleeping. ill sell you mine for $75 bones i think there $160 new. the only downsize is how big it is. you can even try it out if you don't wnat it bring it back.
 
Thanks yager and getstucksome, I actually did a set by hand yesterday:shaking: and wont need to do more until my usa6x6 wheels come in. (who knows when that will be) Cperry, I'll let you know if I decide on that impact.
 
Ive got the DW292 and use it everyday around the shop. Its a handy little tool for basics. The 345 is by far overexagurated. It will take off a lugnut as long as Hulk Hogan didnt put it on, I never used it to put a lugnut on and after using it for a while dont think I would trust it alone. As far as abuse, it will take it. But if you really use it for anything that requires some torque, the battery dies pretty quickly. I got an extra one to keep on the charger.
 
i have had a dewalt for about 3 years and have run the crap out of it, and haven't had any problems either. i would buy the electric one you never have to wait for the compressor to fill back up or whatever just plug it up. I love mine the only thing my compressor does now is run an air chuck
 
I've got the DW292. It's a decent tool to have. It's down fall is it's size. Other than that, it works great on the 36mm axle nuts on the Dana 30's, and on the yoke nuts as well..

One day I'll get a decent air impact. The one I have now is only good for lug nuts..
