Been needing new 18 volt batteries for my DeWalt for a while. New "DeWalt" battery is $50.....a no-name version is $20. Anyone have experience with the cheap version? Mulitply by 2 and you have $100 vs. $40. The drill still works flawlessly so I hate to just buy a new kit....like some of you may suggest.

Seen the same for Ryobi on eBay or Amazon. Says replacement for Ryobi part number. Interested also if someone has first hand experience.

I think this guy does a pretty good job going through real vs fake.

I've got some knock offs. Same ones as the video and they work great. Mine were 4AH though.

I'd try a knockoff 20v battery for mine. The charge on my battery will last a rediculously long time in just my impact using it 5 days professionally and random jeep stuff nights and weekends.
The real test would be in a cordless sawzall, and there's still no way it can hold a candle to Milwaukee.

I bought the cheap 19.2V replacements for my Craftsman kit. So far, I'm happy with them. I know they aren't the same, but they probably come from the same place.

There is a conversion kit
