Did I ever tell y’all how much I hate Lowe’s?

Maybe its because the only Lowes I shop at are Wilkesboro (where it started) and Elkin, but Ive never had problems form them. I know the staff at both stores and have always had good dealings. The 10% employee discount from my wife makes them worth using on a lot of things.

Truth!

Support your local lumber yard and Ace Hardware which are independently owned.

We are saturated with Lowe's in my area, only 1HD. I look at them as the same store.

I think what Lowes is going through it what a lot of companies are going through as they try to keep up with market demands and technology. They need to be able to make their outdated systems communicate with sophisticated new systems, and the "technical debt" from continuously adding onto an old POS IT foundation is catching up to them. Anyone who has had to deal with projects that involve a business side and an IT side know that each side doesn't know shit about the other, and finding a PM and facilitators who can speak both languages and identify the risks and limitations of each are getting rarer and rarer. You need a 30 something hipster to translate the IT stuff but they usually don't know diddly about the business side.

Sounds like they figured out what Starbucks did about too many stores in a given region.
but haven't figured out that the reason they are failing is b/c the service sucks.
Classic disconnect between the CEO and what actually happens in the stores.
