Diesel conversion

I've actually joined most, if not all of them, was hoping to find someone that had actually done a bt swap that may be able to drop some knowledge on me. Tell me things to try and things to avoid to keep from spending a ton of cash where I don't need to/shouldn't. I know speaking diesel you are going to inherently spend more money, but once you get it built it will run forever assuming you don't roll coal at every light. Thanks for the input! I'm open to any and all suggestions! Most guys are sticking to the dodge 47rh, but from talking to some buddies, that trans will only hold with some sigfinicant mods. I opted for the ford 5r110 b/c it will hold up to about 1000ft/lb in stock form. Most guys are shying away from it b/c it requires the use of a aftermarket trans control from destroked. I am aiming to build a DD (that will get good mpgs), that looks like a beast, but will still do moderate wheeling.
