i have an 04 6.0 what are you guys running for exhaust?
if i do a muffler delete will that sound good?

I have a 7.3 and it's straight from the turbo all the way out the ass.I have heard the 6.0 that was the same way and it sounds just as good.

but what would be the reason for the kit when you can just delete the cat and muffler, i guess is a better question

you only really need the kit if you have a programmer and I wouldn't do that with out a lot of other mods first. I have a 4" on mine w/o a programmer but I got the kit w/o a muffler for $280 and that seemed like a good deal to me for an MBRP kit.

neither, sounds good i have a 7.3 and a 6.0 both straight piped and to me the 6.o sounds twice as good, guess is the extra 2 valves per cylinder or something.

Buying a kit let's you run full 4" exhaust, whereas deleting the cat and muffler keeps your stock 3.5" exhaust which is plenty unless you just really want 4" or start making real power.

My brother has owned 4 7.3s and 2 6.0s, all of which ran either 4 or 5" straight pipe systems with no cat. All of them sounded great. I also helped a friend delete his muffler and cat on his 6.0 with some 3.5" pipe, it sounded good as well. Sounds really similar to a straight 4", a straight 5" has a deeper tone.
