Well my recently replaced Chrysler 8.25 rear axle in my Cherokee is doing the dreaded pinion whine and grind noise.. I Know the rebuild kit for it is less than $200, but I've never installed gears or bearings. Anyone now of a good shop within 50 miles of Charlotte that would rebuild it reasonably? Tarheel 4wd center in charlotte just quoted me right at $400 for parts and labor, which seemed a bit high to me. Any recommendations or was that a good price?

And no, getting a junk yard axle is not an option. My D35 exploded awhile back, and I bought a 8.25 off a guy on craigslist that swore it had lows miles and was in good shape. Fluid looked perfect...but of course it whines. So I want to rebuild this one and know its right.

Drive a bit extra and bring it up to ECGS in Raleigh. You will be glad you did.

Give Chase a shout at 919-672-2705 for pricing.
