Dinner time practices

Well I call in some Chinese food, get the dog all excited asking if he wants to go for a ride (which instantly results in uncontrollable excitement and backflips). Go up the road with my dog and get my food, go back home and watch discovery channel while I eat in my recliner. My dog lays in his bed since he knows not to beg and that he can't have table food. Living alone sucks. Sometimes I order pizza but that guy never wants to hang out, he always seems like he has somewhere else to be??

As a kid we all ate around the table, which is something I will resort back to when it's not just me and the dog. I think it's very important for family structure. If a family doesn't eat together they live more like roommates than family.
My friend did exactly what you do and he is gone now . Boy did you put a memory back in my head I would talk to him and he would tell me he was going to get food and call me back afterward .

It's all starting to change now that I have a good girlfriend. When we are together we eat together and both agree that it's important. She has a 2 year old and her father doesn't set the best example.

When I'm home, I usually cook. I'm out of town a lot so the wife has the kids when I'm gone. So, I take care of dinner when I'm home. We usually eat at the dinner table together on weekends but a lot (most) of the time during the week we are sitting in the living room on the sofa watching a Disney movie with the kids or something like that.

When I'm gone, the nanny feeds the kids around 5pm. The wife usually gets home around 6 or so and usually snacks on leftovers from when I cooked or she grabs something out on her way home from work.

So, we are all over the place. Nothing is set and we don't have a typical way we eat. Its whatever makes us happy that day and is what is convenient. :)

I am a supervisor at work and most days I forget to eat, the day just blasts by and getting home to my family is really nice. I am not always here, so it's a nice treat to be with my family, at home we all sit at the table, NO ONE starts anything until the wife sits down. She has usually made our food, made our plates and made sure we all have what we need. Once she sits we discuss the prayer, my 5 year old Nephew has leukemia, as well as my cousin's daughter. One of my best Buddie's has a son who is sick and there is always a family we know in need. It's important to me that we stop, recongize people who have less or are suffering and talk about that for a few minutes before we dig into a dinner we are lucky we were provided. We also want to make sure they are all included in the prayer both at dinner and when we lay the kids down to bed at night. After the dinner prayer we try to sit and eat and discuss our day.

Every night my wife and I sit down with our 2 year old, say Grace, and eat dinner without distractions. I don't get to play with friends or hit the shop until after the kid goes to bed at 8.

Occasionally if I have pressing yard work or last minute wrenching before a trip I get a shop pass and don't eat until after my work is done; this is RARE.

if i have pressing yard work to do, she needs to get to steppin(as soon as she's done cooking my dinner)
she cuts the grass, i fix the lawnmower that's the way it works (she has yet to figure out that you can't cut bricks, and it's not a wood chipper)

Does it say " Mulch" anywhere on it ? if so, there's your problem, cut anything small enough it becomes mulch sometimes those bricks take a few passes to get the pieces small enough....

Sounds like my wife, did you also now that small John Deere riders can be used to knock down retaining walls?

My wife will mow sometimes too, JD rider. She has managed to make a 4 inch guide wheel and another 4 inches or so of JD bright yellow deck bracket disappear! The mower only goes through the yard, never have found the wheel or bracket. I guess she mulched it? If she's mowing, I am shutting up, I can get a new wheel and bracket fabbed up no problem. :D

My wife and I sit down for every meal.
I refuse to eat on the run or in a vehicle or at work as I think of it as the only time I actually get to rest.
We usually talk untill she start going on about a co-worker or her job and at that point I go silent and pull out my phone
You would think after 13 years she would figure that out.
And on sunday we don't lift a finger its church, go eat and followed by walking it off at the Biltmore estate then usually a movie.

This is not the complete truth...
It doesn't matter if I talk about work or not. uploadfromtaptalk1377717834697.jpg
