DirecTv install problems rant

Well, I'm about 10 seconds away from bidding adieu to DirecTV. Charter would bend over backwards to mess around with those yearly credits to get it back to a decent amount, these guys won't do a damn thing. Told me last month they'd apply a 10 dollar discount and to call back this month when "new deals would open up". Not only did they NOT apply the credit, but they can't lower the bill anymore. I'm not spending 100 dollars a month on a service that doesn't even work when it rains :rolleyes:.

I can't figure out why it's difficult to make current customers have the same deals as new customers. You lock me into a contract for a year with the new deal, so why not? Now I can just cancel it and put your shit on the curb, no sweat off my back.

EDIT* Yup, no budging on this. Cancelling the service now, moving back to Charter. A serious FUCK YOU to DirecTV.

Directv gave me $35 off per month for 12 months free NFL network and free HBO for 6 months just for threatening to cancel...

All that said, remember the year 1 promo prices are "loss leaders"...if they did it every year they go out of business.
 
Yeah, we do that with Roadrunner once in a while. Threaten to cancel, they slash the bill and give us faster service for a year.
 
They basically downgraded my service and gave me a ten dollar a month credit. So I'm down from 100 a month to 80.

I'll see how it works but I'm probably going to switch back to Charter. My bill didn't go up for three years with them.
 
Call back and tell them you want to cancel because charter is giving a better rate.
Then get retention dept on the phone.

Just tell them Charter is offering a 6 month teaser for 19.99 and including HBO, Cinemax, Playboy Tv...whatever you want.

They wont match that number but that will make them give you your best offer right away.
BTW with Directv if you are late with a payment 1 time you get flagged as inelligible for most discounts
 
Thought I would bump this back up with an update.... That's not really an update they have done nothing except come out and say ya that's our fault that was about two and a half months ago. Been on the phone with three different head people (Asheville rep. District rep. And claims manager out of Utah) was told two weeks ago they were going to have their insurance take care of it still haven't heard from them. The home owner just got back in the country and he is pissed off. So we will see if anything happens in the next week or two
 
i just barely skimmed this. but after arguing with DTV for over a yr. and them keep giving me bs promises if i would up grade how someone would be out and fix my issues and i would have better service. i finally told them to stick it. which now im getting hit with an early cancellation and whatever bs they can add up to charge me with. everytime someone calls. i just keep asking to speak to someone higher up
 
I think a little silicone around that drain pipe and it would seal it up nicely :D
