What's involved? Just pull a fuse?
If the dash light is on its not going to pop. Trim a wire or pull a fuse. What's involved? Just pull a fuse?
on a serious note, why do you want to disable them?
It takes in to account for what weight is sitting there, if its over a certain # of pounds but less than another it will turn the bag off, assumes there is a car seat there. Idk what year they started doing it. But my girlfriend calls me all the time cause the light for the air bag off is on and she forgets its cause her book bag full of text books is on it fooling the sensor. If its over say 75 pounds the system is active. In most vehicles that I have found. The presence sensors in the seat are fun to replace.98 has no disable switch that I'm aware of. I'm going to look for a fuse to pull.
I'm not sure how a pressure switch would change anything. I easily put 200# of weight in the seat when I cinch the car seat down. Just saying...

You have a point, but does the seat belt hold a continuous 150#? I get what your saying, Never thought about it like that. Be interesting to see if the seat belt holds down that much weight in pressure.Right, but what I'm getting at is that to "properly" install the (child) car seat, they basically tell you to use all your body weight to compress the seat, then cinch it tight. Wouldn't that override the pressure sensor, so that it just thinks there's always a 150-200# person there?
You have my blessingJody, I think you just found your cool phrase.
