Dishwasher electrical

We just bought a Bosch dishwasher and it came with the plug, but Home Depot also sent the box, so we had both. I ended up throwing out the box since I have an outlet under my sink.

The dishwasher and sump pump will both have GFCI protection.
A GFCI can be the equivalent of a ground w/o actually being connected back to the panel. Look it up for specifics. That said, if the metal water pipe is continuous back to dirt, I'd leave it all alone. That was likely code compliant when the house was built.

The wiring for the dishwasher as it exists now is newish, probably when they redid the kitchen in 2007 or so. I've got absolutely zero clue if the plumbing goes back to dirt. There's so much random shit down there. I've found several shut off valves on these water lines with zero idea where they go.

I'll probably just run with the GFCI alone and call it a day. The existing cable is probably secured to the stud on the way down from the panel to the crawl space and I think it'd be a pain to remove.

Well it's all done and functional. Dishwasher is ridiculous, I can't even hear it running.

Went overboard on the electrical at the end of the day. Way more than what was probably necessary but I'm happy with it.
