WOW

I was buying HP liquid gold filled refill cartridges at like ~$20 a pop and my wife could run it dry just by looking at the printer..

I decided to try the DIY fill it your self kit... Kit was like $20 for 6 refills... Had a plastic syringe and 3 bottles of ink... Also had detailed instructions for most all cartridges..

5min later, I'm happy as pie !!.. just then the wife walks by and says... My professor needs me to print this 150page manual out for class, did you fix the printer ?

LOL!

Where did you get the kit? My printer just ran out of ink last week.

My dad used to do this and the cartridges never worked as well afterwards, and the fills didn't last near as long as a new cartridge. Hopefully you will have better luck.

That's when I would say... better hit up Kinkos...

I always ended up looking like I just got back from being booked at the police station. They just were too messy for me.

that's when you email the file to work :flipoff2:

LOL I've never done that... Not even a single one of those BiliaVista Tech reports...

Honestly if we weren't using the volume I wouldn't even bother doing it. (it did only take like 5min) But who care if it lasts 1/2 as long it was 1/10 the price.. I got it at staples it was located in in a less conspicuois spot, I actually had to ask for it, they had a few brands, I got the mid priced one, Actually i need to get the color refill also, when the black goes out, she kills the color cartridge...

I think the biggest issue I've ever had with the ink jets is them sitting and getting gummy... Im not having that problem :)

What school do you guys go to ? NCState has fees for everything. Hell I even paid a fee for some fee one time.. I don't even look at the shit anymore... Where are the free printers located ? They charge you to do everythign.. I'm not paying .10 per page to print it out..

And id rather her have to print it out than have some Prof. make a book that he wrote 'required reading' because they could never sell otherwise.. To the tune of $120 a pop.. (for the cheep ones)

Messy - Not too bad its water based and the little mess i did make wiped off the table.. The syringe did a good job of keeping it tidy..

Hmm, as a printer repair technician i dont recommend the refill kits.

You save money now, but how much do you save down the road when you have to replace the printer cause those stupid refill kits ruined your machine.

The amount of patents manufacturers have on those little boxes of liquids is rediculous. Some off brand chemical composition running through a system designed for another chemical compound is not going to work for long. ESPECIALLY Brother printers. The only good thing about Brother is the year warranty and thats voided if you have generic ink in your machine or the tech sees holes in the cartridge.

No, i dont sell ink. I am a commercial onsite tech, but we do fill in work at the shop on these little pieces of crap and most of the time its cheaper to throw it out and get a new printer than to replace ink.

I'm not paying .10 per page to print it out..

A Laser copier cost .08 cents a page in toner usage.

A laser printer cost .32 cents a page to make a print.

An ink jet.......is rediculous.

an inkjet cartridge gets around $170 pages (the good ones do anyway)

a printer/copier gets between 5000 and 8000 pages.

if you dont have to have color, quit buying these stupid liquid paper weights from OfficeDepot.

okay...rant mode off.
