Do you ever win anything?

Hmm, a soldering gun at a raffle when I was in 7th grade, two sets of concert tickets off the radio when I was in my early 20's, yeah, I think that's about it. Otherwise just glad to be alive and healthy.

Very rarely. I won a small haul at a SFWDA years ago but it was stuff like shirts, koozies, books, stickers. The biggest thing I won was a small suck down winch ($75 maybe). Ever since then I've not won shit at raffles. We went to that run at the SHOP for the military folks and there wasn't that many folks there IMO. I bought $50 worth of tickets and didn't win anything. Zero. However, some people won multiple times.
What about your driveshaft?

I'm hit or miss. Every DU or Delta event I've been to I have won a gun and other random stuff with the exception of this past year. :(

That's about it. I did win quite a few $ on a scratch off last year but by the time I remembered that night, it had already been run through the washer and dryer and was shredded! :(

Beyond that, I'm not much of a winner

I've been lucky in casinos. Won $6800 playing only on one hand of Caribbean stud on my honeymoon(I got up from the table after that one hand). Stopped in cherokee right after they opened and played a slot machine for 15 minutes and hit $4500, I left right after. Got dealt 4 kings in a poker game in Atlantic City many years ago and cleaned up close to $10k on that hand with it paying a percentage of the progressive bet jackpot. I've won a big poker tournament in Greensboro 3 years in a row out of 50 or so players and they quit asking me to come. I win my monthly poker game a good bit more than I lose. Other than cards I don't really win much of anything.

You gotta invite me to yer game once in a while.

If I were to list prizes I've won..it'd take a while to remember. Probably over 10k in prizes at Dixie runs alone. CTB raffles, various other drawings and poker have all been good to me.

Winches..I've won 5.
Sets of tires ....3
Guns...2
Winch ropes,bumpers,rock sliders,lights...

If you don't enter, you can't win.

So the accountant in me asks, for all of you big winners, how many of you are claiming this on your taxes??? NC is $800ish in winnings needs to be reported.

All of my winnings are at least $2.24 less than the reportable amount, whatever that is. :D

In all seriousness, all winnings that I can remember have been minimal at best.

I've won some tickets and such over the years but nothing really big. I once won a hi Jack lift at an off-road event but immediately sold it to one of our members here I think. @redneck grrrl

It's actually a funny story. As they introduce the prize I stood up to walk the say that I want it. Everyone laughed and told me to sit back down. Then they drew my number. Nobody was laughing then hahaha!

Sounds like you don't need to win much of anything else!

That's pretty sweet. Endless possibilities for a truck like that. What'd you turn it into?

I turned it into a $3500 profit....so maybe I won twice with that one :D

The guys that bought it from me were building a food truck for a lady in Kentucky.

I won an all expenses paid trip to the Indy 500 in 1972. I didn't even know about the trip. I had been a dealer for Westinghouse Air Conditioning for a month so my sales rep entered me. I didn't believe the telegram notifying me, I thought it was a hoax. The trip was sponsored by Sports Illustrated Magazine. They had rented the entire 5th floor of the Hilton Hotel. The only purchase I made was tranportation to and from the airport. Airfare ,food, booze. pit passes were all paid for. I learned some things on that trip. One was that it was okay to tear apart and reassemble your car the day before a 500 mile trip. Another guy there was a manufactures rep. He brought along some samples of a brand new adhesive. It looked like clear Elmer's glue but supposedly would stick to any material. I bet it wouldn't hold a water glass to the mirror in the bathroom. Wrong! It couldn't hold a plastic desk phone together. Wrong again. What was this adhesive? Super glue.

They brought me a W-2g at Cherokee with my winnings. I got nothing on the cruise we were at sea. I never got anything from the winnings in AC.

Looks like the fix is in for the shorter folks.
