yes. back in the old days when we milked our own cow, it would seperate if it set in the ice box.

Yep, living on dairy farm, u learn to shake the Hell out of the jug or u get the chunks in your frosted flakes. On the side note makes the best icecream!

We go trough so much milk in my house the jug never sets long enough to need shaking.

Why would I want to shake it and disturb all the little crusty milk pieces up in the section where milk used to be and have them fall into what I'm about to pour?

I do shake chocolate milk, though.

I don't drink milk... you guys wouldn't like me if I drank milk and hung around you afterwards. It's not pretty.
same here....so I shake my Silk. (SOY)

One word: Lactaid. That stuff is delicious. The two half gallons that have already been in our fridge for a week have sell-by dates in December. They'll be gone long before that, though.

ditto. Although Lactaid brand is super pricy if you're a family drinking a lot of milk. Some groceries have a generic version that is much more affordable.

Milk smells "bad" to me either way.....so I only drink it or use it if I just bought it and it hasn't left my sight since then. My dad used to drink out of the carton when he drank and I've had chunky milk on my Cinnamon Toast Crunch more than once....and I hate to waste CTC!

That being said, I haven't eaten cereal in probably 2 years, so that was all irrelevant....

Depends on how hard I'm going at it.
Lol

In all honesty I don't drink milk. Period.
Haven't in about 3 years

Meh... the kids drink the cheap stuff. I buy the gourmet expensive stuff because when I drink it, I want to taste it.

I have never noticed a difference between the Lactaid brand and the store brand (just like no diff in store brand mlk).
Now - it's only whole milk for us. None of that 2% white-colored water stuff.

It's funny, as a kid Mom only bought 2%, no exception. I never had whole milk until I left for college, and bought some on my own. Holy cow what a wakeup that was.
I was sooo pissed at her :D

No.

With 3 kids in the house, we go thru 3 gallons per week. Its been a long time since I've seen a gallon go bad.

I used to work in an creamery restaurant. When someone ordered a milkshake we were trained to ask if they really wanted a Frappe, because a milkshake did not contain any ice cream. Pretty much everyone was like WTF, but there were a handful of people who really did want a "milkshake".
3 kids, I swear It seems like we go through a gallon a day! I never bother with looking at the dates on the jugs, no way it's going bad around my house.

Was this intended as a Pulp Fiction reference? If so, well done sir.

I go through 2 gal a week by myself. I have a huge glass of chocolate every morning, no coffee in 38 years. No nead to shake.

drinking milk on a drunk? this thread has been a real eye opener for me. I just wanted to know if you shake your milk.

It kills my wife that I will frequently have a glass of milk and oreos in the middle of a good vodka drunk. Never get sick.

It's like you mix your own white Russians, but in your stomach!

Milk does'nt go bad around here either. My wife drinks that water milk skim crap. I drink whole or 2% but only with pbj samiches or cinnamon rolls or cereal or pop tarts.

When I have lunch at school with the kiddo I always shake the chocolate milk, just like when I was in school. I like the bubbles.

Ever notice that if you stop by a store and get some Nestle milk instead of a soda that you drink it way faster?

I love the strawberry flavor. Look at the expiration date though, the stuff has a 10 year shelf life!
