Ok so i may be purchasing a 2005 dodge 2500 in the near furture and i have a few questions. The guy im buying it from has done many mods to the truck including 5 inch lift, 37s, professionally built tranny, super B special turbo, 5" exhaust and some other stuff. I think it has stock gears in it 3.73s i believe?

My question is what gears should i run in this truck if i plan on keeping the 37s (may go down to 35s). this truck will be a DD and tow rig for my jeep. Dont really plan on doin any truck pulls but i may.

Also he said that the lift is irreversible? He said you cant take it off because something was done to the frame? I am asking this because i was thinkin of lowering it a little to make the 35s not look small if i put them on.

Any information would be appreciated! Thanks

The OD gear in the auto trans is pretty low... 0.67:1 or thereabouts. Gives you more room for deep gears compared with the .8ish OD in the 6spd.
