Sunday night, my 2000 Dodge 2500 v10 shut off and the code No buS came up where my odometer would show. It will turn over all day but won't crank. If I put the key the key in the on position, the odometer will flash a few times then No buS will pop back up again. I tried unplugging the battery, checked all my fuses, and everything else I could think of. Any ideas?

No bus refers to the data communication between the pcm and several other modules behind the dash including the cluster control. It could be the pcm, any of the other modules, or just a loose wiring harness. The best thing to do if you are trying to save a buck is to try and get your hands on the service manual and refer to that section. It will show you the locations of the different modules so you can check connections and data transfer. You can also go to an auto parts store that has a scanner or code reader. If you can plug it in to the obd2 port and get something, that will atleast tell you that you have data coming out of the pcm.

Yeah I've searched a good bit, but they all say the same thing, just to check here and there. Thanks

no "bus"

Talked to you earlier, like I said we have had a few newer style jeeps with the same problem. Try cleaning the connection behind the cluster. Found a few TJs with mud, dust and a little green build up one the back of them.

Hope it helps let me know.
