Well, my old Dodge Ram decided to suddenly give up on me last week. I would normally tear into this myself but due to various circumstances I need a shop to look at it. Anybody know of a reputable shop preferably in the Rocky Mount area?
Was running fine and there was a thud or bang and it shut off. Popped it into neutral and coasted into a gas station. Tried to crank it again and it would not turn over/locked up. While flat towing it slowly 2 miles, in neutral, to my house there was another lesser thud and when I tried to turn it over again it would turn over and actually sounded like it was trying to start but didn't sound normal.
Wonder if it was the dreaded KDP that kills the early 12 valve... Its a alignment dowel for the front cover easy to fix before it fall out... If it does fall out it gets chewed up by drive gears big mess..
Nope, fixed the KDP years ago. Looking like the high $$$ torque converter seized. Got the engine running now but won’t engage at all. What I’m thinking is has now popped the input shaft or failed internally which is what is allowing the engine to run.
