Hey ya'll. Well im new to 4x4. I got a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500. Dual Exhaust, custom interior, all that. It looks like its been lifted but it hasnt. Stock wheels and tires. I was wondering if a 3'' Body lift would be a good investment. Also what is the biggest size tires I could use with no rubbing. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

unless its a street truck, a body lift isn't recommended, nor practical.

You can fit 33's with little to no interference, depending on backspacing.

Wait 'till you've got the cash, and lift it right. Than 35's or 37's will fit aboout perfect.

After having driven/ridin in several different lifted dodges of that generation, you just can't beat a long arm lift. highway, city, or off road.

lots of places...

I just picked one manufacturer...BDS...

www.bds-suspension.com

using their "wizard"...they offer three long arm options for you, all 5" in the front and 4.5" in the rear...

blocks and AAL's - $1713.92
shackle flip kit - $1734.13
leaf springs - $1920.99

...all say they fit 35x12.50 tires...

I'm sure there are several options when it comes to brand for you...

all i wanna know is how big of tires can i put on now...its stock ...how big can i go w/ no lift and no rubbing?
33's. But it might take a little trial and error to figure out what back spacing is perfect.

Or you can just put on the 33s and then pick up a pair of 2" coil spacers for the front. Tuff Country makes steel versions and Daystar offers a poly version for a little more money.

Check our web site capefear4x4.com and look at the dodge 2500 the suspensions are almost identical to the 1500. The rear on our 2500 is actually been converted to coils. give us a call if you need any help.

A friend put some of these on his dodge and he is running 35s on a skinny wheel but his truck looked huge in stock form
