Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Dana 60 Hub removal and converison to Ford Knuckles

Wow, I have both of these axles sitting at the house . . . . interesting, would love to have the bigger brakes and lockouts on my 98 Dodge to save the front end from turning all the time . . .

I heard tell that Solid's kit to convert the fulltime hub front 60's to selecto lockouts gains 2mpg . . . plus like I said, I like the bigger brakes

I'd just like to have a gf like the one in the pirate build......I can't seem to find one around here that will do a damn thing except sit in frount of the TV and text.

My wife just replaced the water pump on my RAM this week, since I can't do it while recovering from surgery.

x2 on the excessive texting, I can't ever get anything done, then they get mad at you for not responding back within .2 seconds, and then you forget who sent what to you and respond back to the wrong one, and then it gets interesting at that point :shaking:

But seriously Anybody think that the bigger brakes would make a difference? Also if the hubs being unlocked would help MPG?

I think I saw one company project up to a 4mpg increase.....As far as the brakes go.....anything would be a plus. The brakes on my 01 are terrible.

Yea, IDK, my bro's 01 seems to stop a lot better than mine and he's on 40's, granted he has rear disc's and I have rear drums but my front brakes are all new and still suck at stopping.

Sounds like it would be a good thing to convert over to . . . just wondering cause I'd have to get new callipers for the ford frontend (old ones are shot), and might as well put all new bearings and seals in it while I'm at it so it'd be a lil chunk of change to swap it over.

My 01 has newish pads and one new caliper. Mine is also 2wd.

As far as the better mpg goes......it should help. Less rolling resistance(axle shafts) equates to better fuel mileage. Also, I would rather have true lockouts anyday that a unit bearing. Also, better brakes are always good.

I'm going to seriously look into doing this. I plan on doing the bearings and ujoints soon anyway so this might happen. I could and have bought and entire BJ D60 for $600. Thats $1400 LESS than Dynatracs kit:shaking:
