Dodge Ram headlights won't come on

I have a 2000 Dodge ram 2500 v8 gasser. The parking lights all work fine. When I turn the headlights on, the high beam indicator stays on in the dash, and the headlights don't come on. Pulling the dimmer switch does nothing. I'm tried a different dimmer switch and headlight switch from out of a junkyard. I've also checked that none of the wires are loose in the connector to the dimmer switch. Thoughts on what to look for next? Thanks.

Possibly the switch on steering column that goes from high beam to low beam unless that's the dimmer you speak of? I just went through this with a 05 impala!? It was a pita then got wrong switch bc mine had o/d on it and new one didn't but it fixed the lights...

I saw an 02 Dodge diesel recently that would die when you turned on the headlights...

Nothing useful to add, but 99-02 Dodge truck electrical stuff has always scared me.

I had that problem on mine it was in the column tilt tilt your column up and down and see if your headlights turn on it was a bad wire running up from the switch to the stalk

@Charles Smith I had a 93 3500 ram with tilt that did same exact thing! @maddog411 the Multi function switch was the name of the switch in impala that was causing same issue you have! Couldn't remember name of it
