ok someone school me please... i got a 4.5 inch suspension lift on my 2005 dodge ram 1500 4wd. the lift didnt replace the torsion keys or the torsion bars, would the 2 inch lift keys lift the truck anymore? wouldnt that be the same as turning the torsion bars up {which does still lift it}. i was told it would not and im just not understanding why....please someone help me understand this

I tend to agree with you. If it lifted it with stock suspension then it should do the same with the suspension lift provide the suspension lift didn't change the torsion system in any way.

all the keys do is 2 things.

makes them ride harder in the front. you feel almost every peble on the road. it just winds the bars past the normal max point.

then you max out the bump stops and ride on them along with kill the c/v joints at the severe angles. plus shocks get streched to the max.

not worth it. most kits i have put in thay dont like the ride and want it softer.

ok def. noted. but will that lift the truck the extra couple of inches. i just want someone to tell me def yes or no so i can figure this out, because its confused the hell out of me

Yes it will lift it more. I have an 03 1500 crew cab. It has a 4" rancho lift and I cranked the torsion bars and got about 1 1/2". Yes it rides stiffer and yes I go through ball joints every 6 months. Mine just has 2 or 3 in blocks in the rear and it now sits a little high in the front which is the look I was going for. I wouldn't waste the money on aftermarket keys. While they do let you lift it even more, any more than the stock keys would just be terrible on parts.
Half ton rams have very little camber change through travel so in order to keep from wearing out bj's and wheel bearings the lower control arms need to be as close to parellel to the ground as possible at ride height.
