I know nothing about the Dodge trac bar other than it is a heavy wear item.

WHo has the best replacement, repair, fix for the issue ?

This is for a co-worker of mine, '99 Dodge 1500 4x4 Quad short bed.

Suggestions ?

I bought thurenfab's bar.. easiest installation, and man is that thing BEEF....

kinda pricy tho, like $300.

Ok, beef is good, is the cost worth it ?

I.E., will it need to be replaced again in another few years? or is it rebuildable? would it out last 2 stock replacements to justify the cost ?

Yes, it is rebuildable. Don is a good guy and he buids an excellent product. I am gonna be getting one very soon when I upgrade some steering stuff on my Dodge.

Andy, I was just in Charlotte, wanted to find your place, but by the time we got out of class, it was 4:30, you would have been closed by the time we got there anyway.

WHERE in Charlotte are you ? We were off Little Rock Rd at the Holiday Inn, this time, not sure where we'll be next time as the main branch is moving somewhere south of Charlotte into the old Akuma building. ( I work for Southeast Industrial Equip)

Hey man,

You were only about 5 minutes away from us.
Take 85 N to Billy Graham Parkway(airport exit), take a right on to BGP. Take it till it turns into Woodlawn (after you pass over 77). Make a left on south Blvd. We will be 0.3 miles past 4wpw on the right hand side. We are right next to the Carousel strip club. If you get to Clanton Rd. you went just a bit too far.

Give me a shout, lots of nights we are around way past our 6pm closing time....

If you want a cheap factory style replacement go to ebay. Theres an ebay store that sells them for 69.95 pluss shipping with a one year warenty. That being said, I went with Thuren's track bar, Super Heavy duty and adjustable. Its also good for up to 3 inches of lift.

I had a lifetime warranty NAPA bar on there but ya know what? replacing it sucks. My time is worth money.

Thurenfab's is the only replacement that doesn't require a new mount for stock or mildly lifted rigs, either.

He might want to look into a Steering brace for the pitman.. made a nice difference too.

This truck is stock no lift and has no plans to lift it. I will let him know his options.

Was something we were talking about on the drive to and from Charlotte last week.

Thanks

i'd also go with the thurenfab bar. dt second.

the problem isn't completely the tre design, alot of it is the mounting hole gets wallowed out which of course allows slop.
