DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE? SHIFTER BUSHING REPLACEMENT TOY

just take the shifter trim off (from inside the truck). it should be a steel ball looking thing around the base of the shifter where it meets the actual trans. if you push it down and rotate it, it will pop up. remove your shifter. i have had to tap one of the centering pins out to get the bushings in. if you have to tap out one of the pins, you will need to stake it with a center punch when you tap it back in.

The old Toyotas can be pretty bad for this. There is a little plastic bushing that goes on the metal ball on the bottom of the shifter(where it comes incontact with the shift forks). The bushing breaks down over time and it gives you the slop. marlin crawler sells the bushing. I did this fix on a 81 pick up that I had years ago and it made it feel like a brand new trans
