How does the Santa's presents thing work in your house? Ive seen a lot of different ways. Do Santa presents get wrapped? Do all the presents get put under the tree on Christmas after kids go to bed, or slowly accumulate during the buildup?
In our home, people wrap presents for each other, including to/from kids, between adults, etc, and they pile up under the tree as they get prepared. Everybody has a stocking by the fireplace, even the dog.
Late on Christmas night, Santa visits and sets out 1-2 presents for each kids, unwrapped and if appropriate, assembled, and stuffs all stockings. Actually, for awhile only the kids' stocking got stuffed, then last year I decided to throw stuff into hers and mine too, then this year we agreed to stuff each others'.
Stocking stuff is cheap knickknacks, like candy, dollar toys, goofy socks (for all!), colorful winter caps, etc.
Thinking back, even when we were adults home form college etc, everybody who was in the house on Christmas morning would magically have a stuffed stocking regardless of age.
On a semi-related note - this was the first year in a long time we didn't find ourselves assembling anything on Christmas eve. It was both joyous and kind of sad.
