Does this sound legit.

I have been in contact with guy about this truck. My dad wants it. I think its is a great deal. Just wondering if it is legit. The truck in question is a 99 toyota taco. 4x4 asking price 2900. Here are the emails. The bottom ones are the first.


I want to tell you that we will use eBay in this transaction in order for both of us to be 100% protected and insured by them.eBay will supervise this transaction so there won`t be any problems.They will take care of the shipping and all the small details.You will get the vehicle and you will have 10 days of inspection in which you can decide if you buy the vehicle or not.If you won`t like my vehicle,you notify eBay and you send the vehicle back on my cost.


eBay will send you an invoice at your email in which you will see how to start the this transaction and in which you can see that this transaction is legit.If you are interested and you have the funds available email me your full name and shipping address and your phone number and i'll call you for explain this process about how you can buy my vehicle.

I have read a few times that unless you purchase the item via eBay, any time some one wants to use ebay as the transaction vessel, it is a scam.

Email them back and tell them to f-off
 
Do people actually purchase vehicles without seeing or driving them first? At least 3 things that throw up the red flag for me.
1) As BigClay mentioned, claiming to use ebay as a "safe" vessel for the sale.
2) Poor grammar/sentence structure -- almost always a sign of a scam. This happens because the scammers are not native to the English language.
3) Offers to ship vehicles are almost always a scam. Even more so when he says you'll have 10 days, and if you don't like it, you can send it back at his cost.


IMO, there should never be a need for a 3rd party in a deal like this. If you are purchasing the vehicle from someone, deal directly with that person, not through ebay/their friend/cousin/shipping co. or whatever...

If you have to ask yourself this then, YES, it is a scam. And btw, its a scam.:poop:

That is the first thing I look for.
 
I agree whole heart with you guys. I was just hoping for the sake of a great deal that it might just might be legit. No money has been sent and he has been reported to the proper authorities. Just thought everyone might want this f-heads email. Thanks for the replies.
