The wife has decided she wants another dog for the house. Anyone know of a rescue that has beagles or german short haired pointers?

Start checking with the Humane Society. That is where I got my last dog. Best dog I have ever had.

We just brought home a cat today from the Wake County Animal Control Shelter, poor thing has been living in a cage at PETCO since August.

We've rescued 1 dog from a shelter and 2 we picked up as strays ( still have one of them ) the new kitty will be introduced to him later tonight. Should be a good time

I asked while we were at WCAC, 60% of their dogs were pit or pit mix of some sort, which I guess doesn't really surprise me. I'd expect same to be true across the state.

Try petfinder. It lets you get pretty specific with the search (breed, age, etc.) and will include county Humane Societies, SPCAs and private rescues. That's how we found both of ours.

I second that. I got my dog from the Avery County Humane Society and she is dang near perfect.

If you can make the trip, PLEASE come to the Montgomery County Humane Society and get one from here!

Agreed, it is a very nice search engine and searches many shelters and rescues.

We just adopted a German Spitz for my mother for Christmas from Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary in Salisbury, it was $125 including all shots and neutering. While we were there there was a family adopting a Beagle that had pups a couple months ago, but I just checked, all her pups have been adopted as well already.

Yo Chris, my little sister runs a rescue also, I just sent her a msg....

And I got this waterhead from the Humane Society also, best dog a man could ask for!
