Its gotten to the point where I have to get my dog's teeth professionally cleaned, I've tried all the OTC stuff and it hasn't helped.

Have you ever gone to a vet to get a teeth cleaning for your dog? Where and at what cost? Looking for someone who does solid work for a decent price, will drive a bit for it (Im in Hickory).

Side note, does anyone have a dog with digital hyperkeratosis? I suspect mine has it, although its only on her metacarpal pads, so it won't ever really bother her. Just wondering what the steps are to help with it...

We used to bring our dog in to the vet in Febuary for teeth cleaning, they claimed it was National Canine Dental Health month or some nonsense. Cleanings were supposedly discounted, dunno if that was a scam, but it sounded good. DIY wasnt working too well.

You should try veggiedent by c.e.t. they are chews you can get on Amazon. They work great for our dog. There is also nylabone liquid tarter remover.

Chewing raw bones cleans dogs' teeth. I wouldn't let her do it inside, unless you can get her to stay in one spot. Watch her behavior, too. Ours are ok with taking toys and anything else away, but Java gets really territorial when she has a raw bone (they haven't had any in some time, with Sara and having to be outside with them).

You can get 'soup shank' bones from the grocery store meat department and they are usually super cheap.
