Dog waterer recommendations?

With 3 fairly large "hounds" (55#, 65#, 75#) and several cats constantly drinking, we have to fill their bowls WAY too often...

We tried a 2.5gal(?) waterer, but flipping the jug/container (no handle) onto the base was a total PITA! :mad:

Has anyone found a large waterer that can be filled from the top? Or one that isn't a PITA to put into the base?

Absolute last resort will be a livestock waterer that connects to water line and uses a float valve to keep filled. It has a perforated partition to keep the float valve from damage, but the last thing I want is a flooded finished basement from it getting hung... :rolleyes:
 
Use a toilet fill valve and make your own.. set the level well below the top edge of the container and no worries, you could even add an overflow catch basin with a drain line if your really concerned about float hanging.
 
Live stock watering trough with a fill valve gravity fed by a 5 gallon bucket. You just fill the 5 gallon bucket as often as needed. This way you don't have it hooked to a constant water supply and if the valve does get stuck it won't over flow.
 
Tsc makes a float valve I use in water tanks for work cheap and don't hang up and always shuts water off when 400gallons is reached!
 
We e had good luck with this one.... it's about 6 years old and still works well. It's got a float valve that keeps it full. Just have to clean it periodically....

I have 2 90# mixed breeds and a 40# beagle.
 
I just set 5 gallon buckets out for my 2 labs. Refill every night
 
We used to raise mastiffs and the best answer for us was the lickits, They screw on to any spicket or hose connection and are at most farm supply stores for 5-8 dollars.
 
I just have to keep a SS 2 gallon bowl full. My labs will chew EVERYTHING. Including downspouts and chain link fence.

One jumps on it and swings.
The other knocks themy off.
Then they jump up and make it swing. Then they attack the swinging tire.
When it rains they cram their head into the gap and drink the the rubbery watery goodness.they have been known to hide toys in the tire and fight go get them back out.

Dogs don't catch the goldfish?
Serious question.

I think mine would dump the fawning pan over to catch the goldfish and play with them.
