Dogs that trail ride

Tried once but an 80lb Bulldog bouncing around the jeep turned out to be a bad idea. A buddy has a smaller dog (20-30lb) that is one hell of a trail dog but will bite the shit out of you if you try to take him out of the rig.

Our golden retriever use to go but my son kept track of her (his dog) she didn't roam much but never did anywhere else either, always stayed close to Jake. She doesn't go any more @ 14 she just goes outside to shit and comes back to her spot in front of the couch.

Had mine with me at Dixie Run this past weekend. Only off leash during dinner at pavilion. He's friendly, most people petted him, and don't think anyone minded.

There is a guy in URE and at that 101 class with us, has big dog that ran the trail the hole time. Was a very cool dog! I would say if the dog stays close to you at home or you can walk it with out a leash then you would be fine to let it run the trail.

I have a jack Russell that will follow the left rear tire of my jeep as far as you want to drive. Never seems to get tired, who knows where he gets the energy. We call him Rowdy.

I was more or less looking for feedback about where they ride, we have a spastic great pyranease/red heeler that we want to take with us 4 wheeling but not sure where she will ride or if anyone restrains their dogs in their jeep?

We have a 70lb hound mix that rides URE in the back of the 4runner. It all depends on the dog's temperent and motion sensitivity, like people. She was a nervous wreck at first, as a puppy 6 months old maybe. Now, 5 years old, on easy trails and flat sections of most others she will lay down or sit with her head at the window.

My girlfriend and the dog get out for the rough sections. Without a seat belt or hands to hold on, no dog or sober person will enjoy being thrown around.

Use common sense loading and securing gear so it all stays put, out of the dog's space.

Use to take my dog. Started leaving him at home because he was getting thrown around. And I started worrying about what happened if I roll

My heeler rides in jeep back seat or rzr seat, but prefers to run the trail.
