I friend just talked me into signing up for this. Anyone else use it? Are the razors any good? I just got the cheap ones for now to try it out but they have a few different levels of razors. I have to shave almost everyday for my work and my head occasionally so razors can get expensive.

I'm a fan of Astra blades. I think Feathers are a touch sharper but not worth the price difference. 100 blades for $10 at Amazon and each one lasts me a week so almost 2 years worth.

My version of shaving is to take the guard off my clippers and run them over my face.

I'd be pissed if I had to shave every day.

No shit. I get it, there are some professions where it is important. I just intentionally chose one where it isn't.

I have a full-faced beard that I keep at a fairly close trim (maybe 1/4" spacer on the trimmer), only do it about once a week... thats when I shave down the neck, trim the cheeks etc too. When I have special occasions/presentations at work I'll do it the night before. I really hate shaving, to me it's just time lost in my day. I had the standard mustache/ goatee thing for many years but got tired of trimming it all the time and having to work to keep the sides cut evenly.

I was a member for a while and tried every one of their razors. I wasn't impressed with any of the blades and cancelled my membership. Good marketing department....crappy blades.

Ive been using a GEM single edge for about 4-5 years now. One of the best shaves you can get. Good sharp single edge blades are getting harder to find though. I had thought about joining DSC or buying a double edge razor.

My bro-in-law swears by it.

But my brothers and myself laugh at it. I buy a pack of razor heads and it will last me over 6 months. I'll use them until it hurts to shave and then replace them. Pretty sure I spend less than he does, and my face is pobably just as smooth.

I don't remember the last time I paid for any shaving supplies. My wife is one of those "extreme couponers" and gets my razors free most of the time (typically at least 85% off if not) Shave gel is almost always free. I'm somewhat brand loyal to my Gillette Fusion Proglide Power razor. I've never bought a pack of blades - there's usually a good coupon for a whole new razor that comes with a spare blade. Because I only shave twice a week (Sunday morning for Church and Wednesday morning just because it's about half way through the week), one blade (actually 6 blades, but one "refill") typically lasts 3-4 months.

Now, a couple years ago when I shaved my head because a guy in our church was going through chemo, I was burning through razors much faster, but even still they would run at least a month. My hair grows quick, but my facial hair is that of a teenager - so I just maintain a short goatee.

Here is a weird tip someone told me years ago and Ive used it regularly with great success.

I shave in the shower and hang the razor up so it drips dry. No shave gel just water from the shower as lubricant.
I use the Mach 3 is either the standard or disposable fashion. Typically get 4-6 weeks out of a blade though the current one has been going longer.

Im not sure of the science of the how and why. But it absolutely makes blades last longer. Ive heard theories on shave gel intentionally dulling blades to razors left laying flat promoting rust...I dont know just know it works.

My uncle swears by it too...he just said it feels better and your face feels better afterwards, especially if you take hot showers.

I have a crappy teenager style "beard" if you could even call it that. Still have to shave a few times a week so I don't look all scraggly. I've bought cheap razors, semi expensive razors, they all seem the same. I have to shave my neck and bottom part of my face a second round in the opposite direction to get a good close shave. Still tears up my neck and makes me look bad. I constantly wonder if there is a better way. Maybe I should try the shower trick, but I'll need to get me a mirror.

I also have a crappy teenager beard... I am on a week without shaving now (Just because I can) and it is looking some kind of rough...
I have also bought a bunch of different razors, I absolutely prefer to shave in the shower, I don't use a mirror but I have gotten down to a bit of a science where to shave and where not to lol.

I wouldn't shave in the opposite direction if possible. That tears my face up if I do it. I only shave twice a month and just let grow in between. When I do shave I use the trimmer first the cheap 2 blade razor.

I haven't used a blade razor in years, hell I rarely shave though especially during the winter, now I'll take it down to a 4 guard every couple of weeks and trim my neck with no guard on, but once winter rolls around I go all natural unless for some ungodly reason I have to look somewhat decent
