My stupidity cost me a trip to the Dr for an x-ray and 7 stitches today. I'm lucky I didn't break my hand.

There was a fan that we suspected had a bad motor. The fan shared a housing with another backup fan. The air from the running backup fan was causing our fan to slowly free-wheel, which we needed to stop. This is what happened when I tried to stop the freewheeling fan shaft, and smashed my hand between a pair of channel locks and the fan housing.

SUPER GLUE, electric tape, jim beam in that same order!!! glad ya didnt loose a finger honestly!!!

fwiw, I was 'feeling' for air flow one time on a transmission cooler and let one of my fingers find its way between the guard and fan blade.... that shit hurts.

bet that had a few cuss words along with it! OUCH

oooowwwww!!! what was the diameter of the fan? cause that took some force!

hope it heals up good for ya!

best way to check that is to take a rag and put it on the radiator and see if it stays there.

Not really. I was wearing some thin cut resistant gloves, and didn't even notice I was bleeding until I had the fan stopped and we were going back to the starter to read the motor. I noticed my pliers were getting sticky, looked down and saw some goop, then noticed the goop was red. Took my glove off and the rest is history.

It's about a 30" fan. It's enclosed, kind of like a big ass air handling unit fan in an HVAC unit.
