Double cardan driveshaft centering ball explosion

Anyone ever had this happen? I was driving down the road about 45mph then the centering ball and it destroyed itself in my driveshaft. I'm pretty sure the driveshaft ruined now well atleast that half of it. Gonna call oliver's driveshaft tomorrow to see how much it'll cost to get it fixed, or just buy another driveshaft.

I had one get loose and start making noise in my Bronco on the way back from Tellico MANY years ago. We rebuilt it in a rest area parking lot off the highway, LOL. I was prepared and carried all the parts and tools necessary to rebuild it. That was pre-trailer days.

Dang, yeah I had to pull off to the side of the road to remove it and drive home in 4wd. Luckily I had all the tools to remove in the Jeep! It also really surprised me that it happened. Because I changed the centering ball before a it was making a lot of noise, this one seemed perfectly fine then all of the sudden exploded.

I think that's what happened to my friend Josh's when he was going down the highway. When it let go it cracked his t-case in half. That was in a TJ btw.

Did yours make any noise like a high pitched chirping before it broke?
