Yall excited? I am! I have been seing a good number of birds around, how bout yall? Has the limit always been 15 because I always thought it was 12. I know a lot of people had a slow opening days last year but I drove by the other day and there were a bunch of birds on the line again (lincoln county). How are the fields lookin where youre hunting?

things looked great last weekend when i was home. hopefully this weather hasn't disturbed them too much. i've been waiting for labor day since the first of jan.

Nah, havent gotten shells yet. I usually get a case of estate 7.5s, ran 45 or so last year. Anybody find any good deals on them currently?

birds have been flying well here,we will see after the storm. probably Wal-mart will still be cheeaper on a case. if cheaper somewhere else put it on here

ive still got hundreds of dove shells from over the years, wont have to pay for a few seasons. Also have a inventory of duck and buck.

It's been years since I've hunted anything. After moving to this state, the safe rarely opens except for oilings. Now, I've never hunted any birds, just squirrel, rabbit and deer back home in WV. I'm considering getting back into the sport and I'm curious what you guys use for taking birds.

They are talking about shell prices. I'm pretty sure they are not shooting dove with wall nuts and wrist rockets so my best guess would be guns.

Limit was changed this year in SC from 12 to 15.
Afternoon hunt only until next Saturday.

I cant find the video right now, but there is one hell of video about Wal Mart Shells vs. those bought from trade retailers.

Manufacturers have to get their pricing somehow and seems at least some, decrease pellet and powder quantities.

As to the hunt, I am a bit concerned. While I have had birds for a month or so, we are suddenly empty. And I have not even asked others possible places because I thought I had a place...now not so sure.

You guys in NC need to make sure that you don't start hunting tell monday noon I'm having a lot of people talking about going out sat to the hunts and don't know it comes in Monday and they are going to get a big ticket..... Also up at the shop we ask all the time to look at peoples HL to see if they are up to date and have what they need and find that The big box stores are not giving the HIP even if you ask for it ir if you tell them you are going dove hunting and give you what you need they have no clue.... Make sure you have state hunt and HIP that is in date the go out of date like the deer tages. So if you got you hunting license in May you need to go back if I remember and get tages and HIP.....

And to who ever said Beer and hunting.........

You Suck...... That is for after the hunt.....:fuck-you:

I assumed thats what they meant, but yeah if not :fuck-you:

doves

I have trouble hitting the little basterds. The ones on the power lines are pretty easy though.

I always thought you had to shoot them in flight. Last year the warden was checking me and there was one that was sitting in the tree next to me. I asked the man if you could shoot them out of the tree and he said that was fine, just no power lines. I turned around immediately and dropped that one. I think they just raised the limit to 15 this year in NC as well. The ruling on the Saturday thing is that season will not open in August, has to be in September. Sat. is the 30th and Monday is the 1st. Good for me cause I couldn't get off work Sat. anyways. Good luck to yall.

Its been labor day Monday in C for 3 years now.

Thats how it used to be long ago...its a back to tradition thing down here.

Interesting survey recently that shows how few birds are migrating through SC and as much as 95% of all birds killed are locals....

Unfortunately, Ive seen mre than a few folks who thought you couldnt shoot dove at noone unless you had a 6 pack in the AM...they dont get near my field and I dont go near them, but they are out there.

true, true

Im skipping dove season this year. Im practicing shooting the long bow to get ready for deer season. I do miss the benelli nova though.
