Dad has an older John Deere Crawler dozer that jumped the track today and he needs a bit of help diagnosing what is really causing the issue, etc.
He said the right side nearly jumped the track (when turning is the issue here) but he did something and got it back ok and running fine.
He was on the side of the field and turning left into the woods and the left side jumped off this time.
He feels pretty confident he can get the tensioner loose and probably get the track back on and then drive it up onto the trailer (to bring to you as needed)
Regarding the tensioner, he has been working on and making sure they were plenty tight, if anything he would guess possibly too tight (increased wear is our understanding)
BUT, someone that actually KNOWs tracks / undercarriage, etc would be really nice versus our diagnosis via 50 year old shop manuals, etc.
So if you are in the Triad, that would be great, give me a shout at
sammyh@triad.rr.com or you can PM me and I will get you phone numbers etc.
So, thoughts, suggestions, hoping there is an actual dozer/track guy on here, if not, good recommendations are welcomed as well, thx!!
(Dozer is currently in Caswell county, dad lives in Summerfield/Greensboro area)
