The Mud devils have worked with a local land owner and other volunteers to provide a free place to ride in central NC. Many from this board have been to our rides. Lately, there have been others riding there at all times of the day, night, and days of the week. The landowner's mother lives near the property, and there are houses all aorund it. The property itself, is not that large. These people don't want to be bothered costantly by the noise, or deal with the mud that gets tracked out onto the road.

It is, and has been since the begining, and INVITE ONLY private place to ride.

Unless there is an open ride, or you have permission from the Mud devils or the land owner, do not go there. It's private land.

I don't think you could find a better land owner to work with. He has provided a kick ass place to wheel, and asked for nothing in return. The least we can do is to repect him, his family, his neigbors, and the land itself.

:(It's a damn shame some people/groups abuse and trash a wheeling place.:shaking:

:fuck-you:thanks to those ________(insert your own insult) for making the rest of us look like a bunch of eco-terrists! :fuck-you:
(I know you guys that abused the playground are kind of stupid. So I'll let you that is sarcasim.)

the property owner is a great fella. you will not meet anybody nicer, but he's pissed off about how his property was treated. it's not right! How many people do you know that would let us come and drive in there back yard and have a good time?

:beer:everybody that goes out there with permition should personally thank the property owner, the people that volunteered their time, and the muddevils for the efforts they have put forth in making the playground what it is.

I would hate to lose that privilage because of a group of foreskins screwed it all up for the rest of us.

I personally enjoy going out there.
Thanks for all that ya'll do for the sport!

I'm willing to donate a "trailcam" to the cause. Find out who it is and burn their asses. Seriously though, Tell me where to send it. Ridiculous.

What does he think about throwing up a fence and a gate across the front? At least then they'd have to winch it down to get in. :p Seriously, though. If he wants to do something like that, I'd be happy to volunteer some time to get it put up.

wow-can you give dates and names of who has been doing this,

I did not post this to call anyone out, or for it to be a witchhunt. I know that some of the people who have been going, thought they had permission. I posted this to put a stop to it. We spoke with the land owner, and he said what the Mud devils say goes at DPG.

We're gonna start locking the cable across the driveway.

I remember clearing trails at Wellsville(Ohio) only to watch others use them and change the original character and difficulty of the trails. It is a shame to see all those abuse trails they had no part in creating, after all it is the Devils' Playground.:shaking:

It would be a damn shame to lose access to another trail/wheeling spot due to dumb-asses not willing to wait for permission to enter private land.

The Mud Devils & the landowner have been VERY accommodating allowing use to have a local (for some) place to wheel - thank you for the opportunity.

I'm also will to help w/ any workday to help out down there.

Thanks for the post and the spirit it was given in. A huge thanks to the owner on working with the muddevils thru this.

We have to remember the owner may not know who is a MudDevil member, etc. and there could have been some misunderstandings.

Some of the folks riding on the land were there / had spoken with the landowner and I suspect they are not the issue - it is the ones that are NOT getting permission, etc.

With all that said...we also don't want the landowner getting inundated with bunches of requests from various folks, MudDevils are hosting a ride out there about once a month, I think that is a reasonable solution / they are the primary contact with landowner?

MudDevils, I could be putting words in your mouth here...but I suspect if a large crew wanted to ride there on xyz weekend / and they contacted you guys in advance to see if that works, that would likely work out? (IOW that might become the "invite" weekend?)
