Some other helpful hints...
-pack the flutes of the drill bit and tap with some petroleum jelly, and most of the shavings will be caught
-a healthy dose of brake cleaner early and often will help rinse the rest of it out
-a generic power steering filter is cheap insurance to catch anything you missed
-after the first hole is drilled and tapped, plug it before doing the second hole to prevent anything from dropping down the hole
