how well would 2 1/4 x 1/4 wall dom work for drive line tube under a full size?

what do you mean by driveline tube? Driveshaft tube? Axle tube?

If you mean driveshaft, it will be fine, but super heavy!
Front or rear? If that big honker's spinning around the whole time (rear), make sure you get it balanced! The potentially huge weight offset would surely kill some pinion bearings and seals.
I'm running a 2.25" 0.120" wall DOM for the rear. Little on the light-weight side, but it seems to be holding up alright so far (not that I expect that to last forever).

yes it will be a rear drive shaft. in cali its a driveline
