noticed some noise coming from under my 2000 xj. Jacked it up and put it in drive and saw the cv driveshaft totally unbalanced, also noticed that two of the four bolts holding the driveshaft to the TC missing. I'm thinking thats where the thumping noise is coming from. I don't know where or what size they are. Anybody know where I can get some. I don't really have time to order any because I'm heading out of town soon.

front driveshaft? I can't find thos bolts on napa.com, but I gave up quickly. Here's the ones that hold the driveshaft to the axle (both front/rear), http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=PUJ43710_0157739010
The bolts into the front t-case yoke are longer, but I think the same diameter/thread. Its a fine pitch thread, so nothing you can pick up at Tractor Supply or Lowes. If its an emergency, you could completley pull the front driveshaft if you don't need 4x4.

a company called neapco makes them. i believe you can get them through any parts store.

I tried to look up "driveshaft bolt/hardware" but no luck, guess I could pull one off. The problem is its aftermarket which makes it harder to find.

Take a bolt out and go to an automotive fastener store, or even just a fastener store and see if they can match it up.
